To support our growth plans we are actively increasing the size our teams, creating a great opportunity for a Project Manager to join us!

The Project Manager will be responsible for the managing a cross-functional team to deliver radar, chart, service and navigation products as part of the Sperry Marine Commercial Product Line. The Project Manager will be responsible for all aspects of the project including scheduling, budget, risk analysis and mitigation, supply chain, remote subcontractors, and reporting project status to senior staff. 

The suitable project manager should have experience and familiarity with complex defence documentation in a highly technical field.

This position will be in Vancouver, Canada

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactive customer communication through the entire lifecycle of the project
  • Planning of individual product configurations up to integrated bridge systems
  • Responsibility for the assigned IBS project (Integrated Bridge Navigation System), from the order to final ship handover to the end user.
  • Manage the project engineering team to creation and review of technical drawings and documentation
  • Ensuring on-time delivery including sending shipping parts and documentation to the customer
  • Supporting the sales team with technical solutions in compliance with all relevant regulations of the classification societies, flag states, ISO & IEC standards
  • Clarification of technical inquiries through to system design
  • Cross-departmental cooperation with external and internal customers such as product management, development, purchasing, sales and service
  • Reporting of project status to senior leadership team including schedule, budget and associated KPI's
  • Creation/Management of non-standard documentation, such as ILS data
  • Creation and management of project schedule and document control activities

Skills & Experience

  • A technical university degree
  • Knowledge of advanced project management methodologies.
  • Advance knowledge of managing complex projects with defence style documentation
  • Clear communications skill and ability to manage external and internal customers
  • Structured and solution-oriented way of working, which is characterized by process thinking.
  • Fluency in English to communicate with international clients and teams
  • Willingness to make international business trips (frequent to Vancouver if not based there)
  • Initial knowledge of the maritime environment (navigation equipment and corresponding regulations) is an advantage.
