Role Overview

The Systems Engineering Team provides support across the Three programme areas (Surface Ships, Submarines and Naval Services). We help drive the other functions through the Project Lifecycle from Customer needs to Validation (and closeout). Members of the team are embedded within each of these program areas and help to drive good systems engineering practice across all our projects. The team have a strong culture of collaboration and support across programmes, as well as encouraging individual development.

This position is part of the Systems Engineering group within the Engineering department based in New Malden. This role will primarily provide Configuration Management Leadership on our Major Submarine Programme, with a view to expanding the role across all our defence programmes.

 
Skills & Experience
We're looking for someone with experience in software and hardware configuration management. You'll be able to demonstrate functional knowledge of hardware and software configuration management tools, best practices, and industry standards and have the ability to advise or direct project teams on proper configuration control for major programs or multiple smaller programs.

You’ll communicates effectively both written and verbally and exhibit sound interpersonal skills involving interfacing, coordinating and negotiating with company personnel, customers, suppliers and auditors. You’ll be comfortable analysing, evaluating, developing and implementing processes and systems within budget and schedule.  

All of our roles require successful candidates to undergo and maintain a Baseline Personnel Security Standard and/or United Kingdom Security Vetting (UKSV) to obtain a Security Check (SC) without restrictions.
