Role Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Trade Compliance Team at Northrop Grumman Sperry Marine, a leading maritime navigation company, supporting the global export and import requirements.
 
Reporting into the Trade Compliance Manager, the successful candidate will liaise with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure regulatory compliance. This role ensures that the company can continue to support our customers around the world, whilst implementing and governing the required checks and controls. 
You will be part of a team of professionals with a focus on continuous improvement, managing a variety of daily tasks, including licence applications, providing advice and guidance, providing authorisations and maintaining records across Sperry Marine global locations. 
 
Responsibilities will include:
  • Ensure correct usage of licences on customer orders/services, hand carry and support bid activities on new opportunities highlighting licence requirements
  • Application and monitoring of UK export licences, registrations of OGEL, gradings and annual reporting.
  • Support the tracking of International Export licenses and US authorisations to ensure continued compliance.
  • Maintain and update database of all UK/International export licences/movements and US export authorisations, held by the business.
  • Provide import requirements for all inbound traffic to nominated freight agents ensuring correct usage of classification and import schemes. 
  • Escalate for guidance/ instruction, any matter involving interpretation of regional and U.S. laws and regulations governing international trade activities to the Export Compliance Lead.
  • Conduct Denied Party Screening (DPS) transactions and support the review of potential questions where required.

Skills & Experience

We are looking for a candidate with strong knowledge and experience of trade compliance laws and regulations, who is able to communicate to all levels of the business in a clear and meaningful way.
 
Ideally the successful candidate will have prepared and obtained export licenses and will be up to date with current trade compliance working practices. It would be great if you have experience in shipping and/or logistics, which would help when working with our partners and other areas of the business.
 
Excellent English language (spoken and written form) is essential, Dutch language is advantageous.
