Role Overview

The Service Contract Manager is responsible for managing the customer relationships and performance of the Sperry Marine Service Contracts. In this highly visible and customer focused role; the Service Contract Manager is the owner of customer satisfaction and the execution of our Service Contract business whilst keeping a close relationship with existing customers to further success. The Service Contract Manager is responsible for generating new sales opportunities (leading the sales and negotiation process) and handing over to Service Coordination for execution phase.

The Service Contract Manager is responsible for monitoring KPIs and performance of the Service Contracts and acts as the single point of contact for customers and internal stakeholders to regularly review performance, satisfaction and discuss future needs. This role requires a dynamic, diligent and organized individual who has strong negotiation and diplomacy skills, is customer focused and service minded. The Service Contract Manager works closely with the Service Director, Performance and Insight Manager, Coordinators and local Service Managers to ensure our Service (maintenance) Contract obligations and/or Service Level Agreements are met.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the Sperry Marine Service Contracts business
  • Management and ownership of Service Contracts, from opportunity to handover to service/coordination
  • Generate sales opportunities

Skills & Experience

  • Basic knowledge of finance and legal implications
  • Effective price negotiation skills
  • Understanding of forecasting and profit and loss (P&L)
  • Preferably knowledge of Service (Maintenance) Contracts, pricing decision-making experience and performance metrics
  • Takes responsibility for actions, projects and people; takes initiative and works under own direction; introduces change into work processes; makes quick, clear decisions which may include tough choices or considered risks
  • Provides others with a clear direction; motivates and empowers others; recruits staff of a high caliber; provides staff with development opportunities and coaching; sets appropriate standards of behaviour
  • Works strategically to realize organizational goals; sets and develops strategies
  • Experience of setting clearly defined objectives; planning initiatives in advance and able to manage change
  • Focuses on customer needs and satisfaction; sets high standards, monitors and maintains quality in order to achieve goals
  • Preferably knowledge and understanding of Sperry Marine Product portfolio with on board service experience or other Nautical Navigation and/or Communication brands i.e. JRC, Furuno, Wartsila
