Role Overview

A member of the Business Applications Team, working with the group of experienced Systems Analysts and Developers that manage the organisations global ERP system IFS and a number of other business applications, this would be an ideal role for a Service Desk Analyst or IT Systems Administrator seeking to progress in their career and specialise in the business applications / ERP area.

Although no IFS experience is necessary, applicants must be familiar with ERP and IT service delivery as concepts and be comfortable with learning new applications, tools and processes. This is so they can quickly take an active role in supporting the existing team. Formal IFS training and certification is available to the successful applicant following a probationary period.

Key Responsibilities

  • Triaging incoming request and incident tickets assigned to the business applications team
  • Resolving incoming requests where possible and seeking advice or assigning to a more experienced colleague where necessary to ensure team KPIs are met.
  • Active participation in learning and professional development to meet the expectation that in time the post holder will be able to progress into working with a similar skill level to that of the existing consultants, analysts and developers.
  • Taking ownership of delivering any assigned projects to support the team in meeting its objectives.
Skills & Experience
Technical Skills (essential)
  • Familiar with basic functions of a service and manufacturing business.
  •  Familiar with ITSD and tools such as ManageEngine, ServiceNow, BMC Remedy
  • Familiar with ERP at the conceptual level.
  • Able to comprehend business process and procedure documentation.
Technical Skills (desirable)
  • Familiar with basic diagnostic tools – event viewers, trace files, log files
  • Competent in use of remote support tools.
  • Competent in general SQL query writing.
  • Exposure to SQL and Oracle databases / servers. 
Industry Experience

At least first line service desk in similar sized organisation using ITIL. AND Systems administrator / analyst with application support responsibility, possibly in a smaller company.

Any experience providing support to end users of IFS a significant advantage.
 
Qualifications
  • Relevant Computing, Computer Science or IT Degree
  • IFS Certification (desirable but not essential)
  • Any general IT service standards certification – Example ITIL Foundation
  • Foundation level Oracle or MSSQL certification.
