Role Overview

The Project Manager will be responsible for the managing a cross-functional team to deliver radar, chart, service and navigation products as part of the Sperry Marine Product Line.  The Project Manager will be responsible for all aspects of the project including scheduling, budget, risk analysis and mitigation, supply chain, remote subcontractors and reporting project status to senior staff.

Skills & Experience


  • Organise and manage the day-to-day activities of the multi-disciplined team.
  • Coordinate resources with engineering leads as well as the hardware and software project managers.
  • Meet schedule and budgetary requirements as defined in the master schedule.
  • Help to identify and manage risk and opportunities during the project.
  • Provide programme manager with report status on equipment and document deliveries.
  • Organise, chair and close out document reviews with the engineering team.
  • Support programme manager in both commercial and technical meetings with Customers.
  • To manage the performance and development of all staff who report in (applicable where job holder has line management responsibilities).
  • Be able to report project status (KPIs) to the Head PMO and the senior Leadership team.
  • To be aware of and comply with Company Standards of Conduct and all relevant statutory requirements.
  • To carry out any other reasonable management request.



  • Engineering degree qualified (software or electronic engineering) with 3-5 years Project Management experience, ideally in global corporate environment
  • Successfully deliver complex projects on time and within budgets
  • Understand Software development lifecycles
  • Team leadership experience
  • Significant experience of Gated processes
  • Experience with Waterfall methodology and Agile/Scrum experience
  • Excellent people management skills
  • Experience of working in global MRP/ERP environments, such as SAP or IFS
  • Ability to organise and prioritise work to tight and pressurised schedules
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Project and other Office tools
  • Excellent risk and issue management skills
  • Managing project scope and scope change


  • Knowledge of radar systems
  • Marine project experience


  • Project management qualification (Prince 2/PMP)
  • Issue Management tools such as Jira
