Role Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for a Trade Compliance Manager to join our team at our Head Office in New Malden, overseeing all import/export compliance across a global business. The Trade Compliance team is a busy operation providing support to colleagues around the world, with a focus on North America, Europe and Asia. This role ensures that the company can continue to support our customers around the world, whilst implementing and governing the required checks and controls.
 
Key responsibilities of the role include;
  • Subject matter expert in UK, EU and US regulations, leading all UK export licence applications and reporting requirements via SPIRE.
  • Responsibility for and oversight of 2 direct reports.  As a people-leader the TCM will supervise, support and develop the team in all aspects of trade compliance.
  • Lead the incorporation and integration of NGUK corporate trade compliance procedures, local country trade compliance procedures and any relevant regional or local country manuals. 
  • Manage trade compliance corrective actions and improvements within the business as part of NGUK corrective actions policy. 
  • Provide regular compliance training to all NGSM staff.
  • Conduct Denied Party Screening (DPS) transactions and support the review of potential questions where required.
  • Lead for ERP resolution and improvements covering export control module.
  • Support the business in obtaining export control determinations & classifications.
  • Lead all external/internal trade compliance audits.
  • Appointed as International Trade Compliance Official (ITCO) for the Company
Skills & Experience
We're looking for an individual with proven, strong experience of Trade Compliance and who is a real team player. It is a perfect role for someone who thrives in a busy environment, enjoys leading and developing team and has excellent stakeholder management skills.
 
Required: 
Knowledge of UK (OGELs/SIELs/F680), EU (dual-use) and US (ITAR/EAR) Export Laws and Regulations.
Show initiative in raising issues that could improve International Trade Compliance working practices.
Work independently with moderate guidance and as part of a team.
Ability to explain complex trade compliance requirements to all levels of the organisation in a meaningful way
Good understanding of commercial trade terms & conditions
Good understanding, knowledge and ability to work with MS Office programs (MS Word, Excel etc) 
Ability to interface with Government agencies 
Experience with Export Licensing Process 
Ability to collect and analyse data 
Excellent English language (spoken and written form)
 
Acquirable:
Knowledge of Global Import laws and regulations
Knowledge of EU Export laws and regulations
Ability to work with ERP systems such as IFS.
Ability to make export jurisdiction & classification assessments for services, software, technology and products
