Role Overview

As Sales Manager you’ll be responsible for maintaining and growing the Sperry Marine installed equipment footprint, brand recognition and business results in the UK market and with other select countries and accounts.

Working closely with Sperry Marine colleagues, you will develop, own and be accountable for the go-to-market strategy for your areas of responsibility.  You will consider both commercial market and international defence opportunities and will evaluate direct and indirect sales channels as well as considering the right service support approach for your region and its end-users.

You will lead on business-winning for your area of responsibility and will be accountable for the forecasting of Awards and Sales and then their subsequent delivery to the business.

Key responsibilities:
  • Primarily responsible for overall business results & sales strategy in designated markets (products, systems, retrofits, new builds, commercial, naval, direct, indirect)
  • Provide accurate Awards & Sales forecasts for upcoming periods
  • Development of sustainable, successful channel strategies
  • Analysis of customer / end-user requirements
  • Performance management of Resellers
  • Input to recruiting and retiring partners as required  
  • Creating, driving and communicating key account programs in territory
  • Close coordination with Service Team to implement company strategy in combining Sales and Service to maximize awards and profits
  • Reporting of market conditions, opportunities and sales and bid performance
  • Closely work with product management on regional pricing and go-to-market approach including proposals
  • Build capture teams to succeed in new build and retrofit projects
Skills & Experience
Technical Skills
Direct and indirect sales management
Proven B2B sales track record in the Maritime industry
Knowledge of Navigation systems.

Qualifications
Ideally a Maritime degree, Master Mariner or graduate degree, Post graduate

Personal Characteristics
Analytical, data-driven approach.
Customer champion.
Collaborator and team player.
Strong business orientation and a sense for ‘good business’.
